The Design
The Pilar jacket by Maison Fauve is the perfect addition to your autumn and winter wardrobe. It has a nice straight cut, not too wide, not too short and lovely stitched finishes. Two versions, including one with a fold at the back to give your jacket a quirky twist. Make it a classic in denim or choose another mid-weight fabric to make it unique to you.
This is a great option if you're looking to extend your skills.
Fabric Recommendations
Denim. But you could also try a mid weight woollen fabric, a beautiful jacquard or gabardine, around 350 g/m2 (be sure to interface lighter fabrics).
Supplies and Notions
Fabric for a width of 140cm :
- From 34 to 38 : 150cm
- From 40 to 44 : 165 cm
- From 46 to 48 : 180 cm
- From 50 to 52 : 190cm
- 11 buttons from 15 to 20 mm (you can choose "real" denim jacket buttons but also covered
buttons, buttons with holes, etc.)
- If you use a fabric other than denim, which is lighter, fusible interfacing for the collar parts, facings, 2 x flaps, half of the cuffs and the waistband.
Sizing
34 to 52, for a height of 1m 65.
The seam allowances are included and are 1 cm.
Level of Difficulty
Advanced. The technical bits are in the assembly of the collar, the making the fold,
the precision of the darts stitched on the right side of the garment and the top stitching.
