Loads of Modern Embroidery Kits and Supplies

Loads of Modern Embroidery Kits and Supplies

Hello sewing and stitching friends

I've been busily adding a load of new kits and supplies to The Stitchery. There's many, many modern embroidery kits and designs in the collection, but I want to highlight some of my favourites. They make great gifts, either as kits or made by you. They're excellent for beginners because they show you what to do every step of the way. And they're also great for experienced stitchers who want to start a new project without the work of planning.

Nearly all of the kits come with everything you need to get started (except the scissors!), but check the 'what's included' section of each product for a full overview.

As for the kits I've recently added, let's get started:

I saw the Appletons tapestry kits when I was on a trip to London earlier this year. I bought the Virginia Woolf design for myself as a great travelling project (I always need a project in my suitcase). Then, as soon as I got home, I ordered some of my favourites, including more Virginia Woolf, Jane Austen and the iconic David Bowie

There's a great series of modern bargello designs from Oh Sew BootifulBargello is a type of needlepoint that uses straight stitches to build up the design. Bargello tapestry originated in 17th century Italy and is making a comeback with bold contemporary designs like these.

I love the women being active series from Hawthorn Handmade who also supply us with some cute felt Christmas decorations.

I can't stop adding to our collection of gorgeous Nordic designs from Hook, Line & Tinker.

And I've just added a designer who is new to The Indie Stitches Emporium Rikrack.

Finally, I've started a collection of sashiko embroidery kits. It's a small selection at the moment, but watch this space, because it will be growing a lot!

I'll be back with another update next week, but in the meantime, stitch well and stitch often (still working on the sign-off!)
